Abstract

Learning Leadership provides an answer to the question how leadership can be designed on the global, social, organizational and individual level in times of permanent change. It is not perfect concepts or ideal personality that makes leadership successful. It is much more the ability of executives to recognize the directions and impacts of processes and to steer them adequately. Learning Leadership does not implicate a withdrawal from previous and actual knowledge in leadership. It rather presupposes this knowledge as a fundamental personal, methodological and organizational competence. What is new is the equally balanced competence of inside and outside reflection, which is to be learned, exemplified and called in by the leaders who turn out to be the active promoters and developers of organizational change.
