Abstract

Der Beitrag skizziert multi-dimensional den Wandel der Modalitäten wissenschaftlicher Sozialpolitikanalysen in der Zeitschrift “Sozialer Fortschritt“ nach 1945. Dieser Wandel reflektiert den kontextuellen Wandel der Methoden in den Wirtschaftsund Sozialwissenschaften im Hintergrund, ohne die thematische Breite zu verlieren. Dieser Wandel ist einerseits als Qualitätsfortschritt zu verstehen, andererseits gehen normative Reflexionen verloren, die integrativ orientiert sind und komplexe Sichtweise auf die Sozialpolitik betonen. Die großen Zusammenhänge zwischen Anthropologie, Rechtsphilosophie und Kulturwissenschaft in historischer Perspektive, also die Einbettung in die Kulturund Geisteswissenschaften, als “große Geschichten“ gehen verloren. Die ökonomische Dimension der Sozialpolitikanalyse ist fundamental; aber eine Dominanz des Effizienzdenkens darf es nicht geben.

Social Policy and Social-Policy Analysis Seen through the Lens of the ‘Sozialer Fortschritt’ Journal

This paper re-constructs the multi-dimensional change in methodological modalities in social-policy analysis in the journal ‘Sozialer Fortschritt’ after 1945. This development reflects the contextual change in methodologies and methods in economics and all other social sciences; however, the broad spectrum of analytical issues, topics and themes is not lost. On the one hand, this change is to be understood as representing an improvement in quality; on the other hand, there is a loss of normative reflection and of more complex integrative perspectives on social policy. The complex nexus between anthropology, the philosophy of law and cultural sciences within a historical perspective – in short, the embeddedness of the humanities – is on a path to erosion. The economic dimension in social policy analysis is very important, but the exclusive emphasis on efficiency within such analysis would represent a perspectival problem.
