Abstract
Der Beitrag resümiert die Lage der Kultursoziologie in Deutschland rund 30 Jahre nach Gründung der Sektion Kultursoziologie und stellt fest, dass sich einerseits die Kultursoziologie im Fach etabliert hat, dass andererseits mit den transdisziplinären Kulturwissenschaften ein thematisch eng verwandtes Forschungsfeld entstanden ist, das die Frage nach dem Eigenwert kultursoziologischer Forschung neu aufkommen lässt. Anhand des Weber’schen Begriffs der “Kulturbedeutung“ entwickelt der Beitrag dann sechs Gütekriterien (Komplexitätsprimat, Erkenntnisrelevanz, Sinnweltorientierung, Transinstrumentalität, Historizität/Alterität, Konsequenzialität), in denen er das Proprium kultursoziologischer Forschung sieht.
The paper determines the present state of cultural sociology in Germany 30 years after the founding of the section in the German Sociological Association. It is summed up that on the one hand, cultural sociology has established itself within sociology and that on the other a closely related field of research has emerged: the transdisciplinary ‘Kulturwissenschaften‘ (cultural studies). In this connection the question about the specific meaning of cultural sociology is arising. By means of the Weberian term of “Kulturbedeutung“, six quality criterions are developed (primacy of complexity, pertinence of findings, “Sinnweltorientierung“, trans-instrumental approach on theories, historicity/alterity, consequentiality), that are considered to be the specific issue of cultural sociology.
