Abstract
Recent bibliometric evidence suggests that the contribution of German, Austrian and Swiss economists to the international literature is relatively limited. This paper provides a case study of the contribution to the literature in environmental and resource economics, taking into account the number and citation frequency of papers as well as the age of the authors. The general finding stated above tends to be confirmed for this field of research. The question arises as to the situation in other fields.
