Abstract
The "Agricultural Report" of the German government does not provide exact data concerning income achieved by farm households. Therefore, no information is given whether and to what degree farm family income keeps up with non-farm family income although farm policy is directed toward parity income of agriculture. In this article, farm household income is estimated based on relevant statistics provided by the Central Statistical Office and the Agricultural Report. Disparity of farm versus nonfarm income can not be supported statistically. Farm households have increased income by nonfarm employment of farm household members. The theory of farm households only provides a sound explanation.
