Abstract
It is the goal of this investigation to analyse the wage change differences between negotiated agreements on company and industry level. The basis of the empirical analysis is a micro data set, containing 1069 agreements of 30 company and 30 industry bargaining units. The explained variable is a standardized rate of change of nominal wage rates. Exogenous variables are indicators of the economic situation, and a spillover variable. The analysis shows that differences in wage changes appear in one third of the cases. Mostly, the reaction on changes of economic conditions is weaker on firm level than on industry level.
