Abstract
Lower earnings of females compared to males are attributed to more frequent job changes and career interruptions. Expected job tenure determines which applicant is hired (screening theory), whether investment into human capital is performed (human capital theory) and whether long-term implicit contracts are signed (contract theory). This study attemps to test empirically the influence of current tenure and age of the employees on expected job tenure. The estimated regression models are subjected to diagnostic tests in order to check the normality and heteroscedasticity of the errors, the adequacy of the functional form and the presence of outliers.
