Abstract
With regard to environmental consciousness the economic explanation of the environmental issue gets a supplementary dimension: Pollution may be interpreted as a consequence of consumer behavior under quality uncertainty. With respect of this background it is obvious to use an emission publicity as a cause related means of environmental policy. Comparative static analysis is applied to show that the initiation of an emission publicity, based on realistic conditions, leads to a reduction of the pollution level in the industry's long-run equilibrium.
