Abstract
The first part of the paper analyses interdependencies of structural change and growth of labour productivity employment and production in 33 West German industries. Methods of regression analysis and index theory are employed to show that these interdependencies are differentiated with respect to industrial growth phases. In the second part the influence of firm concentration on labour productivity growth is analysed in the framework of cross section analysis. In contrast to former studies we get the result, that firm concentration has not a positive influence on productivity growth. This divergence is probably due to the fact, that former studies have not taken into account heteroscedasticity of residuals.
