Abstract
For the purpose of this analysis the multinational corporations are defined on the basis of an "international profile". After a description of the structure and development of multinational energy corporations we investigate in detail the market and company results of the last decades. Then the different modes of adaptions by the multinational companies to new conditions are examined. We conclude with an analysis of the possibilities to limit the conflict potential between the national energy policy actors and the foreign decisionsmakers. It is pointed out that multinational energy corporations and international energy politics are necessary for the solution of problems in the future.
