Abstract
Demand Management - Illusion or Reality?
The dissatisfaction with the demand management practised so far is the reason for a review of the functioning of the traditional fiscal and monetary policy. The merits and shortcomings of their means are discussed in detail with regard to their stabilization function. After this follows the presentation and valuation of the modern quantity theory of money (monetarism) as an alternative to the traditional concept of stabilization policy. Finally the possibility to include the incomes policy into an overall concept of stabilization policy will be discussed
