Abstract
Modell for Explaining Occupational Absences
The contribution introduces a theoretical model to explain absence based on theoretical approaches and empirical evidence on education / job and stress / health. The model accounts for both, the association of education / job and ability to work and motivational aspect of the willingness to work (presentism versus absenteeism). We also discuss limitations of the model that are good starting points for further developments of the model.
