Abstract
Additional private pension, complex financial products and low interest rates–consumers have to rise to the challenge of focusing more on financial issues. The concept of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe in the area of financial education will be presented. The holistic, structural approach includes both school and non-school education. It aims to provide access to financial knowledge for students and to assist consumers with the competent handling of money and financial services. A wide range of educational and advisory services is available, free of charge and free of advertising, for individuals and also for non-profit social institutions.
