Abstract
With their arrival in Germany refugees are confronted with a large number of challenges concerning their daily routine. Beside issues of existential significance they have to get used to their demanding role as consumers which might lead to diverse problems and financial disadvantages. The project „Get in! Integration geflüchteter Menschen in den Konsumalltag" of the consumer advice centre North Rhine-Westphalia offers educational opportunities for refugees to raise their awareness for important consumer matters and problems. Aiming to identify problematic situations as well as solution approaches. Preventively such potential problems shall be minimized by strengthening consumer empowerment, particularly consumers" financial literacy.
